Sweetheart Seal

This sweet Weddell seal was resting peacefully on a iceberg until he was suddenly awakened by our approach. I imagine he was quite startled since he exerted what seemed to be a tremendous amount of effort to sit up. I am grateful that I can share this image of this gentle giant. Neko Harbour, Antarctica.
