Shelled Sea Lion
After this Galapagos sea lion came out of the water, he rolled himself in the crushed shells on the beach. When he stood up, he looked like a piece of chocolate that had been rolled in peanuts. Since flies are abundant, and always landing on the sea lions, perhaps by covering himself in shells, it helped protect his skin from the biting flies. Punta Espinoza, Ferdinandina Island, Galapagos.
