Mirror Ribbons
Longji, “Dragon’s Backbone” Terraced Rice Fields are flooded this time of year. The terraces were built 650 years ago along the slope of the mountains. After the terraces are well irrigated, workers begin planting the rice which will be harvested in the fall. When the sun is low in the sky, the water in the terraces looks like ribbons of mirrors. A lady dressed in pink strolls down the path winding around the terraces. Longji, China, June 2016.
